Q.  Is there an apprenticeship involved before opening on my own?
Once you are licensed there is no apprenticeship requirement.

Q.  What are my options for starting my own business?
You may elect to do one of the following:
Open a professional office for yourself, advertise and hire help. The monetary rewards are excellent, depending on your creativity and how hard you work.
Open a home-based office and work either on a full or part-time basis. This can be extremely profitable because expenses are low.
Elect to work for someone else who is already established. This is a fine way to gain experience without making a monetary investment.
Work in a Day Spa as an independent contractor.

Q.

How much can I earn?

Depending on your location and other significant factors fees do vary. Electrologists fees are anywhere from $55.00 per hour to $120.00 per hour. Most electrologists are happy to quote you fees when asked.

Q.  Do I need a lot of capital to start?
No. That is what makes this business so appealing. Complete equipment cost is approximately $5,000.00. Rental space is generally priced in square footage, approximately between 250-300 square feet are required.

Q.  What is the failure rate for passing a State exam?
Our Institute has a 98% passing rate in all state written exams and a 90% passing rate in clinical exams.

Q.  Do I have to attend school every day?
No. There is flexibility within reason. You must attend when certain subjects are given. The Clinical portion has greater flexibility.

Q.  Do I have to wait for a semester to begin before I can enroll?
No. We take new students monthly depending on availability.

Q.  Is Electrolysis a safe procedure?
Yes. Since 1875 electrolysis has been the only permanent method of hair removal. It has passed the best test of all….the test of time.
